Eind december begon het mooi te winteren. Zo rond het vriespunt geeft dit mooie sneeuw die lekker op de bomen kan blijven plakken. Laat in de avond bleken de sneeuwbuien te veel om nog een zonsondergang te zien. En eigenlijk maar goed, want tijdens het lopen richting de open heide kwam ik langs dit mooie met sneeuw bestoven bosje bomen. Door het wit op slechts een deel van de bomen, an de donkere randen krijgen ze een krachtige uitstraling. Om dit te versterken heb ik het beeld zwart wit gemaakt. Het lijnenspel springt er zo lekker uit.

Nearing Christmas and the Netherlands became a wintery place. Lots of snow fall, and at times the drifting snow was nice and sticky. Unfortunately, all this snowfall also blocked out the sunset. Well, unfortunately? Not quite! The lighting was soft, and walking through a small piece of forest (a forest I had walked through numerous times already) to reach the open terrain, I was struck by the strength of the trees outlined in the snow. Converting it into a Black and White iage made the trees stand out even stronger, really showing the vertical lines from the trees.
